Elizabeth Foley Printmaking Workshop
August 24 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm$30.00
The Mason-Nordgauer Fine Arts Gallery is excited to present a workshop by talented printmaker, Elizabeth Foley.
Join us on Saturday, August 24th from 2pm-5pm in the gallery to learn how Elizabeth makes her gorgeous pieces. The workshop will include a lesson on block carving, inking your blocks, and printing basics. Every attendee will have the opportunity to print their own tea towel to take home using blocks carved by the artist. Tickets will be $30 per person and can be purchased on the Facebook event page or by contacting the gallery by email at Chelsie@mnfinearts.com or by phone at 812-682-6127.
Elizabeth is from Louisville, Kentucky and has only recently taken to making her art her full time profession. Her monoprints are colorful, bright, and fun. Monoprints, unlike most other print types, are not made in an edition. They are one-of-a-kind pieces, much like paintings and drawings, just done using the printmaking technique. She uses hand-carved blocks to create layered, organic compositions in her prints. Her goal with her work is to create something that will make people stop and look at it, and re-center themselves in their day.
